Out of all of the titles we could give ourselves (husband, wife, parents, pastor, teacher…) I think the best way to let you know who we are is centered in the word “disciple”. We are following behind someone Greater. We are shaping our lives to be pages for Good News. We want to hang on the words of our Rabbi Jesus, to sit with them, to let them do their lasting work of changing us into what we were always meant to be. Co-Heirs of salvation.
I know. That sure is lofty. Living the life abundant means that our discipleship isn’t contingent on performance, but wholly rests on the finished work of Christ. We can follow as disciples, because He served to the end so willingly. We think that Jesus is worthy of our time, our family goals, our relationships, our dreams, and His story is the only one we want to tell and retell at the root and heart of all we write.
The Life Abundant ‘blog’ is just the working out of our faith in the day to day. For David and Becki, a pastor and a homeschool teacher, it will probably focus on living out the normal things of every day life to the glory of God…to the best of our ability and with many fails.
Hopefully you can relate, be encouraged, and maybe join in the conversation.
