Where is your rest, o my soul?

Where is your rest, o my soul?

Is it found in the daily toil and grind that resulted from a curse?
Does the sweat of your brow and the ache in your back provide restoration in your soul like the it provides food on the table?

Where is your rest, o my soul?

Is it discovered like a treasure among the events and obligations penciled in...no, written in stone on your weekly calendar?
Do the stops on your route fulfill their promise and give you true rest or are they merely mile markers on a busy road that doesn’t end?

Where is your rest, o my soul?

Will you find it if you search for it with all your heart ? (Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 11:28)

Will it be to you a blessing and a servant to free you from trouble? (Mark 2:27-28, Psalm 23:3)

Will it be along the good and ancient paths? (Jeremiah 6:16, Psalm 116:7-9)

Yes.

Where is your rest, o my soul?

Remember, and keep it holy.

[9] So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, [10] for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. [11] Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:9-11
